| | My good friend, Erika, works for the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation ("AIISF"). The mission of the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation is to promote a greater understanding of how Pacific Coast immigration and its role in shaping America's past, present, and future. The Foundation needs your help - specifically your VOTE - to earn $10 million dollars towards the preservation of the historical landmarks on Angel Island. After New York’s Ellis Island, Angel Island was the second most significant immigration station in the United States. From 1910 through 1940, it was the West Coast entry point for over one million, Pacific Rim immigrants many of whom were detained there as a result of the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. This “Ellis Island of the West” needs structural repairs and a new roof for the World War II-era mess hall. 1) Go to http://www.partnersinpreservation.com. 2) Vote for AIISF 3) Repeat daily. 4) Spread the word. From Erika: There are only 7 more days to vote at www.partnersinpreservation.com for the Angel Island Immigration Station! We thank you all for your votes, especially those that diligently vote each and every day for our project!
Now we need you to continue to vote and to continue to spread the word to your family and friends! Through your support we have maintained a solid second place position for the past 4 weeks! We were in first place shortly for the very first week! And more importantly we gained one percentage point last week!
The results of projects that have been chosen to be funded will be announced the evening of November 14 in San Francisco. We have been honored to have been selected as one of the 25 projects and through this process we have gained invaluable visibility for our Angel Island.
Thank you again and remember to go to www.partnersinpreservation.com for your last week of voting!
